Look Beautiful this Summer!

Despite all the beauty and fashion challenges that Summer brings for us, Women still love summer and love to enjoy it without sacrificing on looks.
And looking good despite the heat has never been easier than this. Dot Com Women brings you a plethora of tips and trends to look your best this summer.

Neat hairstyles, great-looking dresses, swimwear, good skin and hair care, long staying makeup and the right summer products for you and voila! You are ready to step out in the sun!

Choosing the best fitting Swimsuit

Choose the right fit and style when buying a swimsuit for summers3 basic steps for looking great this Summer season. Choose a swimsuit with the best fit. Find the right style - one that flatters and enhances your looks. A suitable silhouette can actually disguise figure problems. And last and most important - take proper care of your swimsuit to keep it looking bright and new.
Caring for your Swimsuit

1) Washing
After swimming in the ocean or the pool, always rinse your swimsuit with regular tap water. In doing so, you will eliminate most of the salt and chlorine which are the principle chemicals that affect the Nylon and spandex fibers. From time to time, you should also HAND WASH (never in a washing machine even at gentle cycle) your suit with a cool water liquid detergent (like Zero or Woolite). Never use bleach!

2) Drying
It is highly recommended that you HANG DRY your swimsuit. Make sure that it is dried in an artificially lit environment (regular home lighting will do fine) and not outside or the clothesline. The sun naturally causes colored fabrics to fade.

3) Storing
Avoid putting your swimsuit away until it is completely dry. If it is stored while still wet or humid, it could become discolored. For the same reason avoid leaving it in a bag or a damp towel.

4) Oils and Lotions
When applying oil based sun tan lotions, minimize direct contact with your swimsuit as the oils naturally cause the swimsuit elastics to breakdown.
Shoe Trends for Summer 2009
Warm weather calls for a fresh new shoe wardrobe (as if you did need an excuse to do that) and the summer of 2009 brings some exciting new trends for comfortable day and party wear shoes. The hottest trends are Ankle Straps, T-Straps and Gladiator Shoes which are really a combination of the first two.

Here are the top trends and our favorite pieces for this season:

Gladiators and T-Straps

Gladiators have made flats look glam and heels look ultra glam. And it's not surprising why people not just in Rome are doing as the Romans do and choosing gladiator styles for the warm weather. Pair them with toga style dresses for a complete Grecian look or hit the beach in these trendy, yet comfortable flats.

Pointed Toes

Making a great comeback, the classic pointed toes are the look of all high profile parties this season. If elegant is what you are looking for, you can never go wrong with pointed toe pumps.

Ankle Straps

Ankle strap shoes look lovely with pants or skirts. Flats or heels, ankle straps are the way to go.

Peep-Toes

Another classic and a more comfortable alternative to the pointed toe shoes, peep-toes can be worn with the most elegant dresses in evening and at all special occasions.

Patent

Patent never really goes away from the fashion scene but this summer, it sure has an edge over suede which finishes a close second and is making it's own waves.

Color Trends

Bright colors, color block, black and white and even animal-prints - in short, bold and beautiful is the color trend in shoes this season.

The Chunky Look

Wedges and chunky sandals paired with chunky jewelry and accessories are a must for the casual-chic, beach season.

Flats

It's not just the gladiators. Ballerina style flats are also a rage with those who are looking for more comfort this summer. And although the trend continues from the past season, we love them for their cute looks and comfy styles.
